SAP today announced the acquisition of Roambi. Roambi enables us to bring mobile access to analytics to everyone. Very useful and smart acquisition, I believe. Though a slightly older video, this link gives you some idea of Roambi’s capabilities.

New Ventana Research Report launched

Today the latest version of the Ventana Research Report on Analytics and Business Intelligence was launched. A copy of the report is available here.The report is of utmost relevance. Very important is their remark of "simplification" expressed in "The expanding use of BI by business people also puts an emphasis on tools being easy to use. The criterion most often identified as very important for business intelligence products is usability. ".
