Hi, I use a Bold 9780 which is 1.5 years old. I abuse the battery quite a bit: 2 hours daily of heavy usage on the metro with lousy coverage, I don't use wifi at work and make 2-3 calls daily, totalling 15-30 minutes. Lots of browsing, email, IM et al. I charge the phone daily and I used to go to bed with 30-40% battery left. However, lately the phone dies at 7pm or so without warning. On reboot, it says the battery is nearly empty. I've rundown the battery quite a few times, which might have contributed to the problem. On weekends (mostly wifi, no calls) the battery usage is much better. I'm wondering if this is par for the course or if other smartphones treat their batteries better... What does Ars say?I've bought an unofficial battery to see how it goes... Any help will be apprecited. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. HI, This is something that I've been frustrated with for a while with my LG V10. First off, the phone is great, I love it, but I've had some issues with idle power drain where I cannot pinpoint exactly what app or setting is causing the battery to slowly bleed while the phone sits idle. As an example, last night I charged the phone to 100% and unhooked it. This morning after I woke up and checked the phone (11 hours elapsed with essentially no use, no screen time etc), the battery level was at 58%. In the last three hours, 16% of the battery has been used. When I looked at the usage meter, the biggest culprit is the amorphous "Phone Idle" category. I've gotten to the point now where I'm willing to do a factory reset, but before I do that I was wondering if there was anything else I could look into. Any help will be apprecited. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References: https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1328275 Weather Forecast Video Thank you.

Hi, I have been living with some strange gaps in handoff on my Mac for a while now, which I have putting up with in the vain hope that they would be magically fixed when upgrading from 10.11 to 10.13. Sadly, no joy. The issues centre around FaceTime and Messages, and how my Mac integrates with my iPhone. When a text message/iMessage arrives, my iPhone and iPad are updated virtually simultaneously. Messages usually update on my Mac, but often take as long as 10 minutes to propagate. Incoming phone calls similarly trigger immediately on the iPhone and iPad. Sometimes, but not often I will be prompted to answer by my Mac as well. My iPad can initiate outgoing calls no problem. My Mac however, insists that my Mac and iPhone are not on the same Wi-Fi network. This is incorrect. They are on the same Wi-Fi network (both on the 5 GHz network), and Bluetooth is enabled on both. They can see each other on Bluetooth. The fact that incoming phone calls occasionally trigger my Mac proves to me that the wireless infrastructure is correct. It seems to me that this is an issue with authentication/certificates between my Mac and my iPhone. I have done the logout & login to iCloud dance on all devices multiple times, with no change. I have cleared out all of the obvious preferences and certificates from my user directory and keychain — again nil. I have also updated from my iPhone 6 to an iPhone X two weeks ago, and as mentioned above, updated from 10.11 to 10.13 just yesterday. I've tried disconnecting my ethernet and forcing my Mac to use only Wi-Fi, but this makes no difference. I am really out of ideas. This used to work, and worked for ages. Unfortunately, when it stopped working about a month ago, I was in the buildup to the Christmas rush, and really didn't have time to diagnose the issue. Any thoughts, suggestions? Any help will be apprecited. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References: https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1415645 Software Promo Video Thank you.
