Analysis for Office 2.4 surprises again - What's New

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Office (AfO) has been released in it's 2.4 version. In this version we see now the EPM plug-in as the Analysis plug-in combined into one product. Analysis for Office is positioned as the replacement of Bex Analyzer. Using the Microsoft Excel interface, analysis for office allows for a live connection to SAP BW or SAP HANA. As a big fan of SAP Design Studio, I like Analysis for Office a lot since both can easily be integrated via the Smart Copy function.

I am not going to list down all new features for you; the below video shows them all including tutorials, demo's and best practices. What I do mention, is just a few of the highlights that I find very interesting:

  • Custom groupings for SAP BW Hierarchies: create local custom hierarchies

  • Custom ribbons and profiles for EPM plug-in: tailor the user interface depending on user profiles

  • Grouped crosstabs: use master attributes to drive grouped cross-tabs
